Dan Schulz
Chief Innovation Office
Dan treated thousands of patients in massage and chiropractic care before co-founding Elixinol and dedicating a decade to research and development in hemp foods nutraceuticals and nanotechnology.
Dan and the Elixinol team won the 2016 European Hemp Industry Innovation award for developing the world’s first 100% plant-based water-soluble CBD oil. In 2019 he received the Australian Certified Organic Cosmetic Product of the Year for developing SativaTM, the world’s first Certified Organic hemp-based skin and hair care line.
Dan continues to pioneer wellness innovations for ECS Brands, including an innovative 100% plant-based Nano-Gel.

Chief Science Officer
A seasoned Food Safety Engineer and Laboratory Director with 10+ years of research leadership and testing experience in the food and beverage safety food production, and higher education sectors. Recognized for demonstrating a natural aptitude for leading laboratory teams, as well as for creating laboratory and testing management programs, I have a history of contributing to company growth throughout my career.
Professional focal points include laboratory design and buildout, method development for analytical equipment, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), ROI and cost analysis, regulatory practices, supply chain management, management development, infrastructure development, and project management.
Delivering superior administration on the latter areas of expertise requires utilization of effective communication skills, negotiation skills, as well as business acumen, project management, and resource management to support efficiency and maximum returns.
Francine Ettenson
Chief Financial Officer
Francine’s background includes over 20 years in finance with companies such as JP Morgan Chase and Deutsche Bank before transitioning to the Hemp Industry.
Francine was a founding member and CFO of Elixinol (USA), successfully navigating the company through a three-year historical audit during its IPO. She also served as CFO for The Hemp Plastic Company and is credited with discovering a proprietary manufacturing formulation to improve product stability enabling the company to create its first commercial hemp plastic pellet.
Francine’s ability to integrate corporate intelligence with emerging industries makes her a tremendous asset to ECS.
